Heirloom Hollow Crown Parsnip Garden Vegetable Seeds - Delicious, Long-Rooted Parsnip Variety

Parsnips are a delicious and versatile root vegetable with a creamy white color and a sweet, nutty flavor that intensifies after a light frost. Perfect for roasting, soups, or mashing, they are a must-have for cool-season gardening. For the straightest roots, plant seeds in deep, sandy loam or peat soil. Parsnips require moist soil to germinate, which typically takes about 3 weeks, so patience is key! Mature parsnips can be left in the ground throughout the fall and harvested as needed, becoming sweeter the longer they stay in the soil. The "Hollow Crown" variety of parsnip is one of the biggest in size, with roots that can get up to 15 inches long and 4 inches wide.

PLANTING
Germination: 20-28 days
Sowing: Direct sow 3 weeks before your last spring frost date. If your in zones +8 - direct sow during the fall, in the first month where average maximum temperatures fall below 80F. Sow seeds 1/2 inch deep, spaced about 5 inches apart.
Harvest: 100-120 days
Orders are shipped in 1-3 business days excluding holidays or delays due to natural disasters like hurricanes.
Seeds are shipped in bubble mailers so they will not be pushed through USPS roller machines which can damage the seeds. I will not ship seeds in an envelope for this reason.
Seeds will be shipped with no planting instructions to keep seed costs low to the buyer. Germination and plant care information is included in the description. I encourage each gardener to research specifics on how to be successful growing them. Orders with live plants are packed on Mondays and Thursdays (excluding holidays or delays because of natural disasters. Plants are shipped in boxes with packaging material to protect them while they are in transit.
No returns or refunds once shipped. I am not responsible for lost or damaged packages caused by USPS. Since there are so many factors that affect germination and growing success, no refunds or exchanges are allowed once seeds have shipped. These are the same seeds I use in my personal garden so I can attest to their viability. Seeds are fresh season to season.
