Acorn Winter Squash Heirloom Vegetable Garden Seeds
Acorn squash is a vigorous winter storage squash cultivar that produces 1 1/5 to 3lb fruits. Its a great choice for smaller gardens as the vines stay compact. Fruits are dark olive-green with yellow/orange blotches. They have a sweet, dry, golden-yellow flesh perfect for baking. Introduced in 1913 by the Iowa Seed Company, it's an heirloom variety and won the AAS Award in 1939.

Germination: 5-10 days
Seed Sowing Depth: 1/2” deep
Sowing: Direct sow after your last spring frost. In warmer climates can also direct sow at end of summer for a fall harvest. Or can sow seeds in 4 inch pots 8 weeks before the intended target date to transplant into the garden.

Seeds are shipped in bubble mailers so they will not be pushed through USPS roller machines which can damage the seeds. I will not ship seeds in an envelope for this reason.

Orders with live plants are packed on Mondays and Thursdays (excluding holidays or delays because of natural disasters. Plants are shipped in boxes with packaging material to protect them while they are in transit.
