The "Delicious" muscadine grape got its name because many thought it was one of the most delicious muscadine cultivars during taste trials. It was bred by the University of Florida to produce large dark purple, almost black muscadine grapes suitable for fresh eating. It was also found to be excellent as a wine grape as well. The "Delicious" grape stands out for its high yields and ability to resist disease. Muscadine grapes are resistant against Pierce's Disease, ensuring a healthy and fruitful harvest. Expect to harvest in early August. Needs to grow for 2 years before it will start to produce.
