Oregon Sugar Pod II Snow Pea Heirloom Vegetable Seeds

This is my favorite snow pea variety to grow. I have tested so many different snow pea varieties but none grow as vigorous or produce as much as Oregon Sugar Pod II. The plant doesn't get too tall like other peas, staying at around 4/5 feet so its a great choice for smaller gardens. The flavor is super sweet. I snack on these as I work around the garden. Harvest regularly before the peas inside the pod begin to swell, which will keep the vines producing over a longer period of time. Needs trellising/poles to grow on.

Pisum sativum

Germination: 4-10 days

Seed Sowing Depth: 1” deep

Sowing: Direct sowing after the last frost date is preferred. It can get tricky trying to grow in warmer climates like zones 8 and higher. Snow peas absolutely do not like heat. Too much heat will stunt their growth and crisp the leaves. My garden is in zone 9B and I squeeze in a quick harvest by direct sowing in November and growing straight thru winter and into early spring.
