Rosemary is a perennial herb that can live over 20 years. Leaves have a strong concentration of oils which give a wonderful aroma and flavor to dishes. I find that herbs in general like full sun and drier soils. Therefore, I grow mine in containers which provide better drainage. Allow the soil to dry out in between watering. Rosemary can grow into a large bush.

PLANTING
Germination: 14-28 days

Seed Sowing Depth: Seeds germinate better if they are placed in the freezer for 2-6 weeks to cold stratify/stimulate a winter period. They will still germinate without cold stratification, but germination rates will be reduced. I recommend to start in pots/seed trays 8 weeks before your last frost date. Press the seeds into the soil surface. Do not cover with soil. 

Sowing: Can direct sow or start in seed trays 6-8 weeks before the last frost date. Not frost hardy and does not like high heat. Grow during the more temperate times of the year such as spring and fall.
