Blue Hubbard Winter Storage Squash Heirloom Vegetable Garden Seeds
Cucurbita maxima
Listing is for 1 packet of 10 seeds
Blue Hubbard Squash is a unique heirloom variety with large, teardrop-shaped fruits and a striking blue-gray skin. It yields on average squash that is 10-20 pounds. Inside, it has sweet, dense, golden-orange flesh that’s perfect for roasting, baking, or pureeing in soups and pies. Known for its hard rind, this squash also serves as an excellent trap crop—a natural pest management method that attracts squash pests like cucumber beetles and squash bugs, drawing them away from other valuable crops. A good strategy is to plant Blue HUbbard squash at the back or edges of of the garden so the pests get attracted away from the rest of your garden. Blue Hubbard is considered a winter storage squash because it can last for over 6 months if stored properly.
