Butterfly Garden Host & Nectar Plants Seed Collection Gift Set (6 varieties for the price of 5)

This seed collection was specifically designed to attract butterflies. Each variety selected is either a host plant for various butterfly caterpillars and/or provides a source of nectar. I plant these varieties all over my garden. Over the years I have seen more and more butterflies in my garden. Kids love to watch the caterpillars grow and hatch out of their cocoon. This is a great gift idea for new or experienced gardeners, alike. The seeds are packaged together in a beautiful printed A6 envelope so it is ready to be gifted (see first photo). By purchasing this pack, your getting a discount at 6 packs of different varieties for the price of 5.

INCLUDED IN THIS SEED COLLECTION

1. Fennel - This is a host plant for the Black Swallowtail Butterfly. Caterpillars like to feed and hide in their frilly delicate leaves. It also attracts beneficial insects like bees and predatory wasps and flies.

2. Tropical Milkweed - Both a host and nectar plant. This is a host plant for the Monarch butterfly. I notice tons their arrival in my Florida garden beginning in October. They come to Florida on their way to migrating to South America. Other butterflies like the nectar of the flowers.

3. Mammoth Dill - This is a host plant for Black Swallowtail butterflies. Just like fennel, they really like to eat and hide in the frilly and delicate leaves. This particular cultivar of dill gets taller than me! It truly is massive and will provide a lot of food for the caterpillars.

4. Purple Cone Flower - This is a classic butterfly garden flower. It is a host plant for silvery the Checkerspot butterfly. Butterflies find it easy to land on the wide and sturdy flowers. The flowers are a good source of nectar.

5. Indian Blanket - This is a native wild flower to the eastern United States and it is perennial too. Butterflies and bees love its wide flowers full of nectar. Birds will eat the seeds from dried flower heads. It is very drought tolerant once established.

6. Parsley - This is a host plant for both Eastern Black Swallowtail and Anise Swallowtail butterflies. I like to sprinkle seeds in bare spots all around my garden. Gently scratch them into the soil surface and keep moist. They will germinate in just a few days.
