California Black Eyed peas which are a type of cowpea, are a hardy bean first domesticated in Africa and remain a staple worldwide. Exceptionally resilient, black-eyed peas thrive in dry, sandy soil and hot climates, making them perfect for low-maintenance gardens. In addition to requiring minimal water, these plants naturally enrich the soil by affixing nitrogen from the air into the soil. California Black Eyed Peas have a sweet flavor and creamy texture.
