Common Chives Culinary Herb Heirloom Seeds
Allium schoenoprasum
Listing is for 1 packet of minimum 20 seeds

This is the common chive herb commonly used for culinary purposes. Flavor is like a mild green onion.  This herb prefers to grow in more cooler temperate climates. It can be a perennial in areas that don't get cold enough to kill the plants.  It will start flowering at the end of the season and creates a lot of seed. I like to plant them all around the garden and mingle in between my vegetable crops because onion scents are said to deter pests.

In Florida, most culinary herbs grow best during fall, winter, and spring when we have our dry season and cooler temperatures. Herbs love warm & dry conditions. They do not like our rainy summers and tend to die off because of too much water. I grow all of my herbs in containers or grow bags which helps keep the soil drier and they tend to do much better.

Follow me on social media because I talk a lot about the same seed varieties I sell here in my shop and gardening tips. IG, YT, and TikTok: jerrasgarden.
