Green Bitter Melon Gourd Ku Gua Gourd Heirloom Asian Vegetable Seeds
Momordica charantia
Listing is for 1 packet of 10 seeds

Green Skin Bitter Melon gourd is a unique vining melon celebrated across various Asian cuisines for its distinctive, pleasantly bitter flavor. Often used in stir-fries, soups, and curries, it imparts a delicious depth and is believed to offer numerous health benefits. When grown in warm conditions with plenty of sun, this climbing plant produces elongated, warty fruits that are best harvested young for optimal taste.  It is a great crop choice to grow in tropical/sub tropical areas, since it flourishes in high heat conditions. Vines are vigorous and produce a lot.

Also known by many other names, this plant may be referred to as African cucumber, alligator pear, amargoso, ampalaya, balsam pear, bitter cucumber, karella, bitter melon, daun peria katak, dau peria, foo gwa yip, fu gua, fu kwa, fwa kwa, jin li zhi, karawila, karela, kaveli, kho qua, ku gua, la kho qua, lao pu tao, maha, mara, muop dang, niga uri, palia, pare, pare pahit, paria, peria, peria katak, phakha, reishi, ssunoi, or tsuru reishi.

Or start seeds indoors 6 weeks before your last spring frost date, in a larger sized pot like a solo cup, and place it over a heat mat. In warmer climates (zones +9) can also direct sow or start seeds in June/July to get another harvest before winter comes.
